1965 Europa

1965 Europa

Finland returned, but Austria did not issue this year. The common design is a tree sprig with three leaves, said to represent posts, telegraphs and telephones, with the CEPT logo as a fruit berry, designed by Icelander Hörður Karlsson (1933–2024). Three countries did not use the common design: Liechtenstein (a Teutonic beltbuckle); San Marino (rooks on chessboard); and Spain (Benedict, patron saint of Europe. Most stamps were issued in September.
