Founded in 1989, the Arctic Winter Games are a biennial multi-sport and indigenous cultural event involving circumpolar peoples residing in communities or countries bordering the Arctic Ocean. Of the host countries, the United States, Canada, and Greenland, only the latter has issued stamps commemorating the events.
