10th Anniversary of the CCTA

Founded on 11 January 1950 in Paris, the Commission for Technical Cooperation in Africa South of the Sahara (CTCA) – Commission de coopération technique en Afrique au Sud du Sahara (CCTA) – absorbed in 1960 the Inter-African Phytosanitary Council (IAPSC), which was founded in 1954 in London. It ceased to exist on 1 January 1965 when it was restructured as the African Union Scientific Technical Research Commission (AU STRC), part of the Organization for African Unity (OAU).
