TAP Air Portugal Anniversaries

TAP – Transportes Aéreos Portugueses (Portuguese Air Transportation) – was established on 14 March 1945 and began services on 19 September 1946. Having been founded as a national institution, the airline was privatized for the first time in its history during 1953. Throughout its existence, TAP has alternated between public and private ownership.
