This set started as a Stamp News presentation during an SMA weekly Town Hall, covering stamps featuring the Olympic Games.
The 1928 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the IX Olympiad was celebrated from 28 July to 12 August 1928 in Amsterdam. The Netherlands issued a set of eight stamps surcharged to help defray the cost of the games. Uruguay issued a set of three to commemorate their 1924 and 1928 Olympics soccer gold medals.
