This set started as a Stamp News presentation during an SMA weekly Town Hall, covering stamps featuring the Olympic Games.
The 1932 Winter Olympics, officially known as the III Olympic Winter Games were held in Lake Placid, New York. The games opened on February 4 and closed on February 13. The 1932 Summer Olympics (officially the Games of the X Olympiad) were held from July 30 to August 14, 1932 in Los Angeles, California.
Only the US issued stamps: one for the winter games, and two for the summer games. However, there were many promotional labels issued, many to help raise funds for international athletes to compete in the games.
