1946 Victory, Peace, and Rebuilding Addition!

Peace and Victory 2025

On 7 May 2025, the Royal Mail issued a limited edition Exhibition Sheet commemorating the introduction of two stamps following the end of the Second World War. The 2½d and 3d stamps were issued in 1946 to mark the nation’s victory celebrations, with the theme “Symbols of Peace and Restoration.” Various artists were invited to submit ideas for the stamps, with the chosen designs by Edmund Dulac and H L Palmer being approved by HM King George VI. Included within the sheet are designs that were submitted but not taken forward. Each design is paired with the commemorative Union Flag First Class stamp. The sheet was available for the first time at EuroPhilEx held in Birmingham, UK, and is limited to 5,000 individually numbered editions.
