The British Empire Exhibition was a colonial exhibition held at Wembley Park, Wembley, England, from 23 April to 1 November 1924 and from 9 May to 31 October 1925. Great Britain issued two stamps in 1924 and the same stamps a year later, marked “1925.”
I also collected a few commemorative labels for the event, including a set of four issued by Lloyds Bank, the official banker for the Exhibition. Of the four colors of these stamps, the mauve was never issued, supposedly because a bank official objected to the color.
