Continuing my current focus on World War II French colonial issues, here is the first airmail set issued by the Free French government in exile in London for use in the colonies. The design by the famous French artist, Edmund Dulac (1882–1953) features the Cross of Lorraine, symbol of Free France, and a triple-tail, four-engine passenger airplane, possibly based on the Fairey FC-1 (which never saw production due to World War II).
